Four Years in Review

Good evening, Blarg.

Graduation will soon be upon us---that lengthy summary up at the top of our page will have to be changed, as we will no longer be high school students.

We should change it to reflect that we are terrible bloggers. We are not, in any sense, bad writers when we do write, but we do write too infrequently to be considered real bloggers. And that makes us terrible, and not "terrible" as in "impressive" but "terrible" as in "pathetic."

That is fine by me. I, for one, enjoy our sleep deprived or overly caffeinated ramblings.
All of this has been said before, so I will move on to more important things: four years in review.

Year One

We were but freshmen, some dressed as missionaries, when we all came together. We decided to pretend to be lawyers and witnesses, and we were not great---at first. Some of us were in plays, and the rest of us enjoyed watching. We liked ducks and Monty Python. We liked a great many other things, and licked a great many things, and found that a great many things were not for licking, but we were undeterred.

Year Two

Some of us formulated the theory that Sarah and Sarah are 2Sarah, not Sarah^2. Some of us disagreed, and were ignored. Along the way we became 4/3rds of a treasurer, and ended up pretending to be lawyers and witnesses again. Teachers were terrified to see the three faces together. We dressed up as various Greeks and killed each other and ourselves with spoons.

Year Three

We said painful goodbyes; we said hello via internet and postcards, which we do less frequently than to be desired. Some of us went to Italy and mocked the UN and continued to act, while the remaining 3/3rds of the treasurer went on to harass fake lawyers and real judges in Georgia. We put ducks in the mail and the post office didn't seem bothered. A lot of other stuff happened too, but there was still a lot of liking of ducks and Monty Python and Reduced Shakespeare.

Year Four

Some of us got a job, and the others continued to mooch off their parents. We continued to be actresses and pretend lawyers and witnesses. Mostly, we worried about applying to colleges and scholarships. There were quite a few trips here and there, but no reunions---those should be forthcoming. And now graduation is upon us.

It is indeed a frightening event. Soon we will all be old enough for our parents to legally kick us out on our butts, and that means we are old indeed. My summary of the past four years is inadequate, but there is only so much a single blarg can contain. May we have many more blargs together, wherever we are.
